Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â Florence Pride Head Coach Perry Florio today announced the signing of left wing Ryan Annesley (AYNES-lee) for the 2003-2004 season.
The 20-year-old comes into his first professional season after playing the last four seasons in the Western Hockey League. Last year with the Calgary Hitmen, he posted 28 goals and 28 assists for a career-high 56 points. In the 2001-2002 campaign, playing with the Kamloops Blazers, Annesley netted a career-high 31 goals to go along with 118 penalty minutes.
During his junior career he also saw time with the Regina Pats. In 284 career WHL games, the Moose Jaw, SASK native tallied 88 goals and 103 assists for 191 points, and also accumulated 333 penalty minutes.
"Ryan is another young man with great size and a lot passion in his game. He can score, play special teams and he isn't afraid to drop the mitts," Florio said. "He comes highly recommended from former NHLer Brent Sutter. That in itself says enough."
