Steelheads Announce Season-Opening Roster

Boise, ID (10/11/12) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph, in conjunction with the ECHL, has announced the Opening Night roster for the Idaho Steelheads.

Goaltenders: Tyler Beskorowany, Josh Robinson

Defensemen: Gord Baldwin, Jeremie Blain, Matt Case, Deron Cousens, Patrick Cullity, Scott Fletcher, John Ryder, Scott Todd

Forwards: Andrew Carroll, Jacob Cepis, Justin Dowling, Austin Fyten, Neil Graham, Tristan King, Taylor McReynolds, Ron Meyers, Jake Morley, Ben Ondrus, Corey Tamblyn, Mike Towns, Andrew Wright

Graham will open the season the ECHL's 21-Day Injured Reserve while Wright and McReynolds will open the season on the ECHL's Reserve List.

In all, 14 of the 23 players have either played at the AHL level or participated in AHL training camp this fall. Seven (Beskorowany, Case, Cousens, Cepis, King, Meyers, Ondrus) have competed for the Idaho Steelheads prior to this season.

Ben Ondrus will serve as the team's captain while Gord Baldwin and Andrew Carroll will be the alternate captains. The three players have combined for nearly 900 regular and post-season games in the American Hockey League, the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. Ondrus has also appeared in 52 games at the NHL level for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 16th season of professional hockey in Boise kicks off on Friday, October 12, when the Idaho Steelheads host the Utah Grizzlies at CenturyLink Arena. Season Ticket packages are available now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages start at as little as $150 for fans who want a little more flexibility.
