-WILD CARD-LEADING SPIKES LOOK FOR PLAYOFF BERTH: The State College Spikes have retaken the lead in the New York-Penn League Wild Card race with three games remaining in the regular season, and continue their 10th Season tonight with the regulars-season home finale against their SawBuck Series rivals, the WIlliamsport Crosscutters. State College and West Virginia each have 40-34 records, but the Spikes have the head-to-head tiebreaker. Aberdeen is also alive in the Wild Card race, just a game back of the Spikes and Black Bears. Whoever wins the Wild Card berth will face WIlliamsport in the best-of-3 Semifinal Series starting on Wednesday. The Crosscutters have already clinched the Pinckney Division, which the Spikes won in 2013 and 2014. The Crosscutters are 7-2 on the season against the Spikes. Tonight marks the 118th meeting all-time between the two clubs, with the all-time series sititng at 59-58 in favor of Williamsport.

-LAST GAME: Ronnierd Garcia's walk-off infield single in the tenth inning gave the State College Spikes a 2-1 win over the Williamsport Crosscutters on Saturday, keeping the Spikes in the New York-Penn League Wild Card led with just two games left in the regular season. Garcia, who collected his first triple of the year in the second inning, stepped up with the bases loaded and one out in the tenth and bounced a ball to shortstop that was hard to play, enabling Leobaldo Pina to score. Pina had provided the game-winning single in the Spikes' only other walk-off win this year, a triumph over Batavia on July 20. State College collected 13 hits on the night, but stranded 10 runners in the first nine innings.

-RODRIGUEZ STARTS FOR SPIKES: State College right-hander Dailyn Martinez gets his 14th start of the season for the Spikes as he takes the hill tonight. Last time out, Martinez allowed two runs, one earned, on seven hits over six innings in a win over Mahoning valley on Tuesday. The Santiago, Dominican Republic native has faced the Crosscutters just one other time this year, allowing a season-high seven runs, six earned, over 3 1/3 innings on June 21. Martinez has gone 2-2 with a 2.43 ERA since the end of July, striking out 26 and walking 11.

-CROSSCUTTERS SEND MORALES TO MOUND: Williamsport right-hander Luis Morales will make his fifth start and 11th appearance of the season for the Crosscutters tonight. Morales is making his second start since returning to Williamsport after a stint with the Gulf Coast League Phillies in August. Last time out, the Valle La Pascua, Venezuela native earned his first New York-Penn League win with five innings of work in which he yielded two runs, neither of them earned. Moraleswent 2-0 with a 0 69 ERA in three GCL starts to earn his promotion back to the Crosscutters.

-MARTIN EARNS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD: Spikes Athletic Trainer Dan Martin has been named the New York-Penn League Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS). The award is given annually to one member of each of the 16 leagues in Minor League Baseball, as well as one award for the Dominican Summer League, with an additional award is given to the Minor League Coordinator of the Year. Martin is now eligible for the Minor League Trainer of the Year award as well, which will be given at the 2015 Winter Meetings in Nashville, TN.

-GRAYSON GOING BACK TO THE TOP: Spikes infielder Casey Grayson now has two homers and two triples to go with his team-leading 18 doubles this season. Grayson is now fourth in the New York-Penn League in batting average with a .314 mark, and his .422 on-base percentage places him second in the league behind Bobby Wernes of Tri-City. The University of Houston product is second in the NYPL with 76 hits, and is tops in the loop with 46 walks.

-SPIKE MARKS: Pedro Echemendia is first in the NYPL with 25 appearances, and is fourth in saves with 11...Echemendia also leads the Spikes with six wins on the mound, and his 11 saves are the most for any Spikes pitcher since Ronald Uviedo posted a franchise record 12 saves in 2007...The Spikes added catcher Chris Chinea from Rookie-level Johnson City after the Appalachian League season ended Tuesday...Chinea hit .301 with six homers and 27 RBI this year...Jose Godoy has recorded 10 pickoffs from behind the plate this year, four of them at second base
