September 6, 2015 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

The Williamsport Crosscutters saw the final two runs of the game be scored by State College on Saturday night as the Spikes rallied for a 2-1 win in 10 innings. The Cutters received six innings of one run baseball from starter Luke Leftwich, who took the no decision. Williamsport holds a five game lead over State College and West Virginia, who are tied for second place in the Pinckney Division.

Williamsport kicked off the game with a one out triple from Venn Biter in the top of the first inning. Two batters later Jose Pujols would draw a two out walk to put runners on the corners for Williamsport. The Cutters would leave both runners on base after Jesus Posso flied out to center field to end the inning.

Leftwich would work into and out of trouble in the bottom of the second inning as he allowed a one out triple to Ronnierd Garcia. The Cutters defense helped Leftwich to get out of the inning after finishing off a pair of ground outs from State College and strand the runner at third base. Dylan Bosheers would crack the scoreless tie in the top of the fourth inning for the Cutters. With the bases loaded and just one out, Bosheers drove a ball to deep right field that allowed Pujols to score from third base and make it 1-0.

The score would remain the same until the bottom of the sixth inning when State College plated the tying run. With a runner on third base and two outs, Leftwich gave up a double into center field off the bat of R.J. Dennard. The run would be the only blemish of the night for Leftwich, who allowed seven hits over six innings of work. The game would require extra innings after Ismael Cabrera worked out of a jam in the bottom of the ninth inning. Mark Laird picked up his only hit of the night in the top half of the 10th inning, but the Cutters would fail to score in the frame.

In the bottom half of the inning, State College would load the bases against Jacob Waguespack. The Spikes would end the game with a single into center field as the winning run scored from third base.
