-SPIKES FACE JAMMERS IN EARLY PINCKNEY SHOWDOWN: The State College Spikes take on the team that is joined with them on top of the Pinckney Division standings through the first week of the season tonight as the Jamestown Jammers head into Central PA to start a three-game series. The visit is the first by the Jammers since becoming the Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate. State College is 31-39 all-time against Jamestown, with a 15-19 record in games at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. All previous matchups against the Jammers came when Jamestown was affiliated with the Miami Marlins.

-LAST NIGHT: Carson Kelly launched a three-run homer off of the scoreboard in left-center field, his first with the Spikes, but the Auburn Doubledays came from behind to deny the Spikes a three-game sweep by taking a 6-4 decision on Saturday night at Falcon Park. State College took a 4-0 lead with the blast, but Auburn would chip away at the edge over the next four frames, taking the lead on Jordan Poole's RBI double in the sixth. Steven Ramos was the lone State College player with multiple hits, including a bunt single that broke up Kylin Turnbull's perfect game in the fourth inning. Ronald Castillo drove in the other Spikes run with a single that came one batter before Kelly went deep for State College.

-BAUTISTA GETS BALL FOR SECOND SPIKES START: Right-hander Juan Bautista, who started Opening Night for the Spikes, gets his second start tonight against the Jammers. Bautista allowed three runs, two earned, on nine hits and a walk to Williamsport this past Monday as he took the loss. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native struck out four in the effort. Bautista began his season making three starts for the Advanced-A Palm Beach Cardinals, earning the win on June 6 against the Tampa Yankees with six shutout innings. The righty put up a 3.21 ERA in 14 innings at Palm Beach.

-BREWER BEGINS SET FOR JAMMERS ON HILL: Right-hander Colten Brewer gets the ball for Jamestown tonight in game one of the three-game series. Brewer earned the victory on Tuesday for the Jammers as he held Mahoning Valley to no runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings. The Canton, TX native was the Pirates' fourth-round draft choice in 2011, and spent 2012 with the Gulf Goast League Pirates, where he went 1-3 with a 3.24 ERA, 18 strikeouts and nine walks over 25 innings.

-HEY, I KNOW YOU: Jammers manager Dave Turgeon returns to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park tonight after skippering the Spikes in 2012. Jamestown pitching coach Mike Steele also comes back to State College after serving as Spikes pitching coach from 2009-2010. Also, nine players listed on the 2013 Jammers roster (Lance Breedlove, Kevin Kleis, Jared Lakind, Dovydas Neverauskas, Isaac Sanchez, Francisco Aponte, Yhonathan Barrios, Jodaneli Carvajal, Jimmy Rider and Jesus Vasquez) saw action for the Spikes in 2012.

-SPIKE MARKS: One night after leaving 15 runners on base, a team record for a 9-inning game, the Spikes left just one runner on base last night...Castillo is now third in the NYPL in batting average at .423, and his 11 hits are tied for first...Jhonny Polanco has struck out 19.64 batters per nine innings so far this year
