Texas Stars News Release
CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced today the details of the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss Night, taking place during Friday's game against the rival San Antonio Rampage at Cedar Park Center.
When the Stars and Rampage battle on the ice at 7:30 p.m. for first place in the AHL's West Division, fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or other new stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice when the Stars score their first goal of the night. All stuffed animals collected at the Teddy Bear Toss will be donated to Operation Blue Santa as part of the Stars' participation in the Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade on Saturday, Nov. 29.
Fans who bring a stuffed animal to the game for the Teddy Bear Toss will also receive a voucher for one free ticket to the Stars' home game on Wednesday, Nov. 26, against the Oklahoma City Barons.
Over the last three seasons, the Stars' Teddy Bear Toss has collected more than 3,800 stuffed animals for Operation Blue Santa, which distributes them underprivileged children in the Central Texas area.
In addition, The Parking Spot, the official airport parking company of the Texas Stars, will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at Friday's game to donate to Operation Blue Santa. The Texas Stars and The Parking Spot also team up to enter a float in the Chuy's Parade.
Friday's game is also the Stars' first Fun Food Friday of the 2014-15 season. Fans can enjoy $3 specials on beer, soda, hot dogs and Pizza Hut slices, and $4 specials on Robert Mondavi Private Selection Wine.
The Texas Stars entered the 2014-15 season as the AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions. Single-game tickets and season ticket packages for the 2014-15 campaign are on sale now. For more information, call (512) GO-STARS (467-8277) or visit TexasStarsHockey.com.
