Chicago Wolves News Release
Former Chicago Wolves goaltender Frederic Cassivi, who helped the Wolves capture the 2002 Calder Cup championship during their first season in the American Hockey League, was one of four people selected Wednesday for induction into the AHL Hall of Fame.
The Sorel, Quebec, native joined the Wolves in 2002 and posted a 31-22-7 record with a 2.75 goals-against average and .912 save percentage in 67 regular-season appearances spread over three seasons. The 15-year professional backstopped the Wolves through the Western Conference Qualifying Series of the 2002 Calder Cup playoffs and contributed a 2.37 GAA and .923 save percentage in seven postseason appearances overall.
Cassivi appeared in 500 AHL regular-season games during his career, which makes him one of seven goaltenders to reach the 500-game mark. He ranks fifth all-time with 232 wins and finished his AHL career with a 232-190-47 record, 2.83 GAA, and 24 shutouts.
The 10th group of enshrinees, as determined by the AHL Hall of Fame selection committee, also includes executive/writer James C. Hendy and centers Bronco Horvath and Art Stratton.
