Stars Set to Rumble with Force

Lincoln, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars (29-20-1) will complete their two-game weekend against the Fargo Force (23-21-2) on Saturday in the Ice Box. Puck drop is set for 7:05 pm.

Lincoln is second in the Western Conference with 59 points. The Stars are riding a six-game home winning streak ahead of Saturday's matchup.

Grant Jozefek has been hot for the Stars lately with eight goals and four assists in his last ten games. Tanner Laczynski leads the team and is third in league scoring with 52 points.

Fargo is on a three-game winning streak, led by top forward Denis Smirnov who has 49 points in 46 games.

The Stars are 0-3-0 against the Force this season, getting outscored 11-5. Saturday marks the fourth and final meeting between the teams this season.

Four Stars logged multi-point nights and Patrik Virtanen made 27 saves as Lincoln earned its sixth consecutive win in the Ice Box.

Scouting Fargo - The Force is on a three-game winning streak after taking four points from Lincoln last weekend and topping Sioux City, 2-1, on Friday night. Fargo is fifth in the West with 48 points. Denis Smirnov leads the team with 49 points.

Stars vs. Force - The Stars are 0-3-0 against the Force this season, getting outscored 11-5 in those games. Saturday marks the final meeting of the season between the Western Conference foes.

Score-ch The League - Tanner Laczynski (52 points), Ludvig Hoff (49) and Grant Jozefek (46) are among the top 10 scorers in the USHL.

Top Prospects - Ludvig Hoff, Grant Jozefek, Christian Evers, Peyton Jones, Collin Peters and Tanner Laczynski participated in the 2016 USHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Omaha, Nebraska on Jan. 12. Chris Hartsburg coached Team West and Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager Corey Courtney joined the support staff.

20th Anniversary Season - The Stars are celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season this year. The team played its first season in 1996-1997.

Oh Captain, My Captain - Biagio Lerario was named team captain for the 2015-2016 season. Ludvig Hoff, Patrick Polino and Dylan Woolf were named assistants. The Stars eight-man leadership group includes those four players along with Adam Brady, Sam Kauppila, Ryan Jones and Christian Evers.
