Ralston, NE - For the second night in a row, the Omaha Lancers were unable to score as the Waterloo Black Hawks came away with a 4-0 victory in front of over 3,300 fans at Ralston Arena on Saturday night.

After no scoring in the opening period of play, a missed opportunity on a two-on-one rush for the Omaha Lancers resulted in a goal for Waterloo. Josh French missed the net on the odd-man rush and the puck wrapped up the wall out to the neutral zone to spring the Black Hawks on a rush of their own. From the left wing circle, David Cotton fired a low shot that was denied by the left leg pad of Lancers goaltender Kris Oldham. The rebound went right on the stick of Yuri Terao and he buried it for the 1-0 lead 6:19 into the second period. The lone assist on Terao's 11th of the year was given to Cotton on the original shot.

Later in the same period on a similar play, the Black Hawks took a two-goal lead. Liam Pecararo played the puck on net from the bottom of the left wing circle. After Oldham stopped the shot with his leg pad, Kevin Charyszyn broke through the defense and snapped home his third goal of the season for Waterloo's 2-0 advantage. Assists on the goal were credited to Pecararo on the original shot, and Garrett Wait. The points were Pecararo's 36th of the year and Wait's 7th and came at 14:51 of the middle frame.

In the final period Waterloo pulled away thank to Liam Pecararo who was left wide open in front of the net. After receiving a pass from the right wing side of the ice from Garrett Wait, Pecararo lifted the puck off the inside of the post and into the net for the 3-0 lead. Pecararo's tally came 9:36 into the third period with helpers from Wait on the pass to the net, and Jake Ryczek.

Later in the third, with the net empty, Sam McCormick sent the puck in for a four-goal advantage with 5:49 left in the game. That held up as the final as Lancers goaltender Kris Oldham put aside 25 of 28 shots he faced for his 13th loss of the season.

The Lancers return to Ralston Arena next Friday and Saturday night as they host the Green Bay Gamblers at 7:05 p.m. CT. Can't make it?
