Stars Blow Past Force, 5-1

Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars capped a two-win weekend with a 5-1 victory against the Fargo Force on Saturday in the Ice Box.

The Stars opened the scoring at 11:18 of the first when Collin Peters made a centering pass that Ludvig Hoff buried for his 19th goal of the season.

Trevor Hamilton added another less than one minute later when he hammered a shot from the left point for a power play goal at 12:02.

The Stars' two-goal lead held into the first intermission.

Mike Gillespie and Will D'Orsi scored in the second, giving the Stars a 4-0 advantage before Fargo put one on the board.

Force defenseman Bradley Johnson made it 4-1 at 17:00 of the second before the teams traded fisticuffs with a pair of scraps.

Lincoln and Fargo combined for 78 penalty minutes.

Ryan Poehling added the final goal for the Stars, making it a 5-1 final with his first USHL goal.

Stars goalie Peyton Jones finished with 26 saves. Tanner Laczynski had two assists.
