
Stars send three to ECHL

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the club has re-assigned left wing Janos Vas to the club's ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads. Iowa has also reassigned left wingers Krys Barch and Dan Baum to the Greenville (South Carolina) Grrowl of the ECHL.
Drafted by the Dallas Stars with their second pick, 32nd overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Janos Vas (YAH-nosh VAHSH) made his North American Professional debut on October 6th. He has skated in four games for Iowa this season, recording two assists and six penalty minutes: 4(0/2/2)6.
Now in his six year as a pro, Krys Barch appeared in two games for the Stars this season, recording nine penalty minutes. He joined the Iowa Stars this season after spending the majority of the 2004-05 season with the Greenville Grrrowl (ECHL), accumulating 11 goals, 19 assists and 154 PIM's in 55 games: 55(11/19/30)154. A 1998 fourth round selection of the Washington Capitals, the 6-2, 200 pound winger played his junior hockey (1997-2000) with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Dan Baum accumulated 206 penalty minutes in just 48 games:
48(3/4/7)206 for the Edmonton Roadrunners last season. The left-handed, Saskatchewan-born, center registered 179 points and 666 PIM's in 258 games from 1999-2003 with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL): 258(79/100/179)666. He did not play in a game this season for Iowa.
