DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Dallas Stars have re-assigned left wing Mathias Tjarnqvist to the AHL club.
The 26-year old Tjarnqvist has been on the Dallas Stars NHL injured reserve list since the start of the season, missing all nine of Dallas' games so far. Listed at 6-2, 196 pounds, the Umea, Sweden born left winger has played in 18 NHL games in his career, accumulating one goal, one assist and 2 penalty minutes: 18(1/1/2)2.
A third round selection of the Dallas in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he skated in 46 games in his native Sweden, recording 17 points. His 2003-04 AHL numbers total 60 games, with 15 goals and 13 assists: 60(15/13/28).
