
Ducks announce roster moves

PORTLAND, ME- The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled left wing Chris Kunitz from the Portland Pirates, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Additionally, the club returned goaltender Michael Wall to Portland.
Kunitz, 26 (9/26/79), has appeared in two games with the Atlanta Thrashers this regular season, going scoreless with two penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-0, 194-pound winger was claimed on waivers by Anaheim on Oct. 18, 2005, after being claimed earlier that month (Oct. 4) by Atlanta. He has played two games with Portland this season, going scoreless.
A native of Regina, Sask., Kunitz made his National Hockey League debut with Anaheim in 2003-04, playing 21 games and notching six assists with 12 PIM. Kunitz signed with the Mighty Ducks as free agent on April 1, 2003.
Wall, 20 (7/25/85), dressed but did not appear in two games with Anaheim following his recall on Oct. 10. He has played in three games with Portland this season, going 1-2-0 with a 4.02 goals-against average (GAA) and .867 save percentage (SV%).
The 6-2, 189-pound native of Telkwa, British Columbia, signed a three-year entry level contract with Anaheim on Sept. 29, 2005.
The Pirates return to action this Friday at the Cumberland County Civic Center against the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday, "Hockey Night in Portland" the Pirates will host the Binghamton Senators at 7:05 p.m. After the game, join the players a post-game party at the Stadium Restaurant and Sports Bar.
Season tickets are still available for the 2005-06 season at the Pirates office, located at 531 Congress Street in Portland. Ticket plans start at just $50.
