
Stars Roll to 6-3 Win in Des Moines

Des Moines, Iowa - Backed by Collin Peters' hat trick, the Stars rolled to a 6-3 win against the Des Moines Buccaneers on Friday night in Buccaneer Arena.
The Stars opened the scoring at 7:25 of the opening period when Tanner Laczynski buried a rebound to make it 1-0. Biagio Lerario and Dylan Woolf were credited with the assists.
Lincoln stretched its lead two minutes later when Collin Peters hopped out of the penalty box, took a pass and beat Buccaneers goalie Nick MacNab to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes.
The Stars piled on to the lead in the second period to make it 4-1 after 40 minutes.
Laczynski earned his second of the night at 13:17 of the frame when he caught a pass from Sam Kauppila for the Stars second shorthanded goal of the season.
The Bucs got on the board at 15:21, but Peters responded for the Stars less than one minute later for his second of the game.
Goals continued to pour in the third period as Peters grabbed his third of the game to mark the Stars third hat trick of the season, then Tye Ausmus scored his third of the season, helping the Stars to an eventual 6-3 win.
Patrik Virtanen finished with 29 saves.
