Thunder Return Home to Host Green Bay

BLOOMINGTON, Illinois - After a series of away games, ending with a come from behind win against the Muskegon Lumberjacks, the Bloomington Thunder will host the Green Bay Gamblers at home this Friday. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum as the Thunder (22-13-3-1) return home for the first time in three weeks. The Gamblers (23-12-3-2) are tied for second in the Eastern Conference and hold second place overall in the United States Hockey League. Friday marks the fourth of six meetings between the two conference rivals this season.

Friday night records the 100th game in team history for the Thunder. Join the celebration with $1 drafts and soft drinks. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the special available until puck drop. Tickets start at just $10 and $5 youth tickets when you call ahead. Call the Thunder office at (309) 434-2980 to avoid fees and taxes at walk up.

The recent Michigan State commit Logan Lambdin (Michigan State University) sealed the deal in the come behind win last Saturday. He scored the game-winning goal for the Thunder in the final two minutes of the game. Lambdin is having a breakout season in his final year of USHL eligibility with 28 points (17g, 11a). In lieu of his recent performances, Lambdin has earned a spot with the Spartan family next year.

Tarek Baker (University of Wisconsin) added his 18th goal of the season in Friday's win over the Lumberjacks adding to his single season team record. Baker is the top scorer for the Thunder with 34 points (18g, 16a), including 20 points in his last 13 games. Goalie Logan Halladay (Merrimack College) made a total of 24 saves against Muskegon on Saturday, including a shutout third period.

Green Bay went 1-1 at home against the Fargo Force last weekend. The Friday night win was goalie Adam Huska's (New York Rangers) 15th this season, as he was untested in the game with only 9 saves on 10 shots. Huska sits as the top goalie in the league with the best numbers across the board. The Slovakian goaltender has the highest save percentage, goals against average, and tied with Hayden Lavigne (University of Michigan) with 15 wins. Four of those wins were credited as shutouts.

Sam Saliba (Michigan State University) is the leading scorer for the Gamblers, adding his 19th goal of the season last Saturday. Saliba is a force on special teams with 11 power play goals, the most in the USHL. The Michigan State commit is currently ranked second on the team in points with 32 (19g, 13a).

NEXT HOME GAME: Saturday, February 13th - 7 p.m. - The Thunder will host the Gamblers again for Guns & Hoses night. Saturday specials include buy one get one free hot dogs from 6-7 p.m. and all kids 12 & under receive a free hot dog voucher upon entrance. The Thunder will also be wearing specialty Guns & Hoses jerseys available for auction after the game. Proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
