Lincoln, Neb. - The Stars filled the net on Friday night, topping the Buccaneers, 6-3, in the Ice Box.
The Stars opened the scoring at 3:45 of the first when Ludvig Hoff buried his 18th goal of the season, capitalizing as the trailing forward behind Collin Peters and Henry Bowlby.
Peters added another to make it 2-0 with a power play goal at 5:59 of the first. Ryan Jones and Biagio Lerario earned assists on the play.
Lincoln increased its lead to 3-0 at the midway point of the opening period when Ryan Poehling slid a pass to Ethen Frank, who buried a wrist shot from the right circle.
Poehling's assist marked his first USHL point.
Des Moines rallied back with two quick goals to draw within one goal, but Grant Jozefek scored another highlight reel goal to make it 4-2 at the first intermission.
Jack Badini helped the Stars continue to cruise in the second, scoring at 6:14 of the period to mark his fourth point in five games.
Buccaneers forward Oliver Celec earned his second goal of the night before the second intermission, but the Stars retained their two-goal advantage when the buzzer sounded.
Trevor Hamilton joined the score-fest with a slap shot at 9:51 of the third. The power play goal made it 6-3. That score held for the remainder of regulation.
Peters and Hoff finished with a goal and an assist. Lerario and Jones finished with two assists.
Stars goalie Patrik Virtanen made 27 saves.
