Stars Outlast Lumberjacks, 2-1

Lincoln, Neb. - Backed by Will D'Orsi's two-goal night, the Lincoln Stars beat the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 2-1, on Friday at the Ice Box.

Lincoln opened the scoring as D'Orsi snapped the puck past Muskegon goaltender Joe Daccord at 13:57 of the first to give Lincoln the 1-0 advantage after 20 minutes.

The teams traded power play goals in the second period, giving Lincoln a 2-1 lead at the second intermission.

Muskegon defenseman Nate Kallen tied the game at 12:05 of the period before the Stars responded with D'Orsi's second of the night at 18:03.

Neither team scored in the third period, giving Lincoln the 2-1 victory.

Peyton Jones finished with 28 saves.

The Stars are back in action January 30 against the Madison Capitols. Puck drop is set 7:05 pm.
