Sioux City Musketeers News Release

The Musketeers kick off a three game weekend tonight in Dubuque against the Fighting Saints.

The Musketeers currently sit in 5th place in the USHL's Western Conference with a record of 17-16-1-0, good for 35 points and 11th place in overall league standings. Sioux City is 6-4-0-0 in their last ten games, but in that stretch, the injury-plagued squad has been shut out 3 times and allowed 15 goals in those three games. On the flip side of that coin, they won four straight games coming back from the Christmas break, including a 4-1 win on New Years Eve against the Omaha Lancers, a team they'd not beaten on New Years Eve in 9 previous attempts.

The Saints are also 6-4-0-0 in their last ten games, and 23-12-0-0 overall on the season. Their 46 points are good for 3rd place in the USHL's Eastern Conference, as well as 3rd place overall in league standings.

The Musketeers return to home ice on Sunday against Waterloo (126-15-0-2, 34 points). It will be the second and final time that the two teams play in Sioux City before taking the 4 game season series to Waterloo later in the season. Sioux City won the first game with The Black Hawks back on Sunday, October 18th in a high scoring 7-5 affair.

Fans who attend the game will be given coupons for a free order of Chicken Fries at game night sponsor, Burger King. Fans are also invited to stick around after the Sunday afternoon game to skate with the team immediately following the game. Skating is free for those who bring their own skates. Skates are available for rental for $3.00 per person for those who do not have their own skates.

Tickets for the Sunday game are on sale now at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, online at www.musketeershockey.com, or by phone at 712-252-2116.

Game time for tonight's contest in Dubuque is 7:35pm.
