Stampede to Serve Meals at Life's Kitchen December 9

BOISE, Idaho, December 3, 2010 - The Idaho Stampede will be helping serve meals at Life's Kitchen, a one-of-a-kind resource that helps at-risk youth learn different aspects of the food service industry, on Thursday, December 9 from 11:30-1 p.m. Head Coach Randy Livingston, a group of players and front office personnel will be attending.

Life's Kitchen provides a 16-week job training program that teaches students the basic skills necessary for entry-level jobs in the food service industry - three aspects of the business are specifically taught: contract food, catering and a café. Stampede players and coach Livingston will be helping the café aspect of the organization for lunch.

NBA Development League teams, players, and staff will join community partners and local volunteers in an effort to make a difference in the lives of children and families while generating awareness around the importance of giving back. All 16 NBA D-League teams and players will bring holiday cheer to families in need by hosting charitable events throughout November and December.

The Idaho Stampede and NBA D-League Cares Season of Giving events will also include:

- On December 18, the Idaho Stampede will be at Town Square Mall in Boise, where members of the Stampede Spirit Dance team, along with AAA Rumble, will ring fund-raising bells in honor of the Salvation Army. The Stampede will be outside the second floor entrance of JC Penney.
