Stampede Sweep Tulsa In Home Series

BOISE, Idaho - The Stampede swept the Tulsa 66ers in a two game home series after defeating them 110-95 Saturday night in Boise.

The Stampede took the lead early on and were up by eight with three minutes into the first quarter. Tulsa then came back with only three minutes tie the game 18-18. By the end of the period both teams were tied at 25.

With less then a minute and a half left in the first half, Coby Karl made a steal from Wink Adams and passed it to Donell Taylor who made a two from the field. The Stampede ended the first half up 52-50 and never looked back.

"I thought we came out and took control of the game early," said Idaho Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "The defense was as solid as I have seen it all year."

Two minutes into the third quarter Lance Allred scored six back to back points, giving the Stampede a two point lead over Tulsa. Allred continued to pound at the 66ers, finishing the third quarter with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Going into the fourth the Stampede sat comfortably with an eight point lead.

The Stampede finished the game with four players in double-figures and two double-doubles, starting with Taylor's game high of 30 points and Andre Barrett with 15 points. Grabbing double- doubles were Allred earning his 11th this season with 23 points and 13 rebounds, and Joe Dabbert with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
