St. Luke's And Stampede Partner To Help Kids "Get Fit"

BOISE, Idaho, March 17, 2010 - The Idaho Stampede have partnered with St. Luke's Medical Center to create a program that lends assistance to youth in the Treasure Valley, by encouraging them to "Get Fit!"

The "Stampede Basketball Get Fit! with St. Luke's" program is in its fourth year and is designed to utilize professional basketball as a vehicle to instill the importance of proper nutrition and exercise in the lives of today's youth and their families. The program recognizes children throughout several schools in the area who are working toward leading a healthy lifestyle by making sound choices in nutrition and fitness.

Prizes are awarded to children who participate in healthy activities such as eating better and being active. Some examples of the prizes include basketball clinics hosted by Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon and Stampede players, tickets to Idaho Stampede games, water bottles, T-shirts, and more.
