Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they have re-acquired guard Antonio Anderson (6-6, 215, Memphis), who earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 22.

During two 10-day contracts with the Thunder, Anderson played in one game, scoring two points with one rebound in 15 minutes in a loss at Denver on March 4.

A Western Conference All-Star selection, Anderson is averaging 15.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists (tenth in the NBA Development League) and 1.3 steals per game. He is shooting 47.7% from the field. Anderson was the only Viper to play in each of the first 32 games, starting all of them and averaging 39.6 minutes per game, fifth in the league.

"[Head coach] Chris Finch and our staff have done a phenomenal job of developing players like Antonio Anderson, Garrett Temple and Kenny Hasbrouck, who have all earned NBA call ups, so we are fortunate to finally get one of those guys back. Witnessing the development and growth of Antonio throughout the season has been rewarding and the opportunity to have him back on the team as we compete for first place in the Western Conference is exciting," Vipers General Manager Gersson Rosas said.
