St. Louis Blues Assign Jake Neighbours to Oil Kings

Edmonton, AB - The St. Louis Blues announced today that they have assigned Jake Neighbours to the Edmonton Oil Kings for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Neighbours, 19, was selected in the first-round, 26th-overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft by the Blues. In nine games with the Blues this season, he notched two points (1G, 1A), two penalty minutes and a -2 plus/minus rating.

The Airdrie, AB product is a veteran of 141 WHL games, having picked up 131 points (43G, 88A), 87 penalty minutes and a +47 plus/minus rating over the course of his four-year WHL career. He is currently on a 19-game point streak in the WHL, having tallied 33 points (9G, 24A) in that span.

The 6-foot, 197-pound left winger has also appeared in 16 WHL post-season games with the Oil Kings, recording 12 points (4G, 8A), 10 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating.

He was selected by the Oil Kings in the first-round, fourth-overall, of the 2017 WHL Draft.

Neighbours has represented Canada internationally on two different occasions, first with Team Canada White at the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he served as the team's captain, and then was an alternate captain for Team Canada at the 2019 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, helping guide the team to a silver medal.

He is expected to meet the team on their current road trip and could be in the Oil Kings lineup as early as Friday night when they take on the Regina Pats.
