Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

The Moose Jaw Warriors are excited to announce more details regarding the Hockey Fights Cancer game night on November 20th.

As previously announced, the Warriors will be wearing special edition Hockey Fights Cancer-themed jerseys. Fans had the opportunity earlier this season to submit pictures of a loved one, who they wanted to honour; those pictures have been placed in the numbers on the back of the jerseys.

Beginning on Monday, November 15th at 9:00 am CST, game-worn jerseys of Captain Daemon Hunt, Ryder Korczak, Denton Mateychuk, and Brayden Yager will be available through a special online auction at www.thecrushedcan.com. This online auction will close on Sunday, November 21st at 8:00 pm CST. Bids for this special auction will only be accepted online.

On Saturday, November 20th, the entire team's game-worn jerseys, including additional jerseys of the previously mentioned four (4) players, will be available through a silent auction which will be running on the concourse of Mosaic Place. This auction will begin when doors open at 6:00 pm CST and will close when the puck drops at the beginning of the third period.

Other fundraising initiatives planned for the night include a Hockey Fights Cancer chuck-a-puck with prizes including a Hockey Fights Cancer team signed jersey and four (4) player signed Canadian Cancer Society logoed pucks, as well as the selling of "I Fight For" cards, which will be posted that night in the rink, and purple glow sticks. After the game, fans will be invited to ice-level to sign a loved one's name on the ice for a special Hockey Fights Cancer photo.

Net proceeds from the jerseys and other initiatives that night will go to the Saskatchewan branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Founded in 1998 by the NHL and NHL Players' Association, Hockey Fights Cancer unites the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. November is Hockey Fights Cancer Month across the NHL and this will mark the second time that the Warriors have supported this program.
