
St. John's Druken Named AHL Player of the Week

The American Hockey League announced today that St. John's Maple Leafs left-winger Harold Druken has been named the Sherwood/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 14th. Druken recorded nine points (3G,6A), was a plus four (+4) and had 19 shots on net to lead the Maple Leafs to a 3-1-0-0 record in four games last week.
Druken's weekly highlights included a first star performance in the Maple Leafs 4-3 OT win against the Rochester Americans Tuesday night. Druken tallied the game-tying goal at 8:49 of the third period and assisted on the team's first two goals. On Friday, Harold Druken scored the game-winning goal in a 6-1 decision over the Binghamton Senators. Druken also recorded two assists and was named the game's third star. Finally, On Saturday Druken had a goal and an assist in the Baby Leafs only loss of the week. He was named the game's second star. Druken is currently on a nine game point streak (9G,9A) and a five game assist streak (4G,8A).
This is Harold Druken's first nomination as Player of the Week. Druken was originally Vancouver's 3rd choice, 38th overall in the 1997 Entry Draft. In recognition of his achievement, Druken will receive a Sher-Wood leather jacket, presented to him during an on-ice ceremony prior to an upcoming game. In addition, Sher-Wood will donate five travel bags to the St. John's AAA Maple Leafs in Druken's name.
St. John's next game is this Friday night when the Maple Leafs visit the Toronto
