
P-Bruins Tied for Atlantic Division Lead

The Providence Bruins begin the week tied with the Hartford Wolf Pack for the Atlantic Division lead with their 15-9-5-0 record (35 points). The Black and Gold has won four of his last five games, and is 6-3-1-0 in its last 10 games. Providence tied an AHL season-high by scoring five power play goals in a 5-2 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Sunday. The Bruins now lead the league with 27 power play goals, and are tied with Lowell for the AHL's top power play ranking, at 19.3% (27/140). Head coach Scott Gordon's club has persevered through a rash of injuries. The Bruins have lost 112 man-games due to injury through 29 games, six short of matching last year's season total.
The Bruins will play two games this weekend, beginning on Friday, December 19 at 7:05 p.m., when they battle Hartford at the Dunkin' Donuts Center for sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division. They visit the Portland Pirates the next night at 7:05 p.m., before taking a break for the holidays.
The Bruins will conclude their Holiday Hats & Mittens Drive at Friday's game. The Bruins' wives and girlfriends will be collecting hats and mittens in the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office lobby from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All items collected will be donated to the Salvation Army of Rhode Island.
The second edition of "Providence Bruins Weekly Presented by National City Mortgage" will air on Tuesday, December 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The show will be aired live on WSKO AM-790, The Score. The show will be hosted by Adam Alper and will feature P-Bruins head coach Scott Gordon and Providence Journal beat writer Joe McDonald. The show will also feature live interviews with Bruin left wing Darren VanOene and defenseman Ed Campbell. In addition, Marianne Cooney, the Manager of Child Life Services at Hasbro Children's Hospital will be on the show.
The Bruins are currently offering a Holiday FlexTix Special. The Special gives fans the opportunity to receive a free Providence Bruins hat, with the purchase of 10 FlexTix. The Holiday FlexTix promotion runs through December 31.
