RICHMOND, VA - Juan Perez delivered a walk-off RBI single that capped a two-run frame and gave the Richmond Flying Squirrels (34-35) a 5-4 win in 10 innings over the Portland Sea Dogs (28-40) at The Diamond Sunday afternoon. With the win, Richmond earned a series victory over Portland in the three-game set. The Flying Squirrels wrapped up a 5-1 home stand and have now won six of their last seven games.

Richmond starter Andy Reichard and Portland's Stolmy Pimentel each tossed two scoreless frames to start the contest. The Flying Squirrels struck first with two runs in the bottom of the third. Ryan Cavan and Gary Brown hit consecutive singles to start the frame. Following a sacrifice bunt by Nick Liles, Daniel Mayora drove in Cavan with an RBI single. Moments later, Pimentel uncorked a wild pitch and Brown raced home to make it a 2-0 Richmond lead.

The Sea Dogs immediately answered in the top of the fourth. Juan Carlos Linares hit a leadoff single and Bryce Brentz blasted a two-run home run over the left field wall. The game remained tied at 2-2 until the top of the sixth when Linares deposited a 1-0 offering from Reichard over the left field fence leading off the inning, which gave Portland a 3-2 edge.

Pimentel did not allow a run in his last four innings and he exited the contest after the 7th inning, having allowed five hits and two earned runs. Reichard turned in his second consecutive quality start for Richmond as the right-hander yielded five hits and three earned runs in six innings of work. Neither starter factored in the decision.

Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth, Richmond rallied to even the score at 3-3. Mayora hit a one-out single off Sea Dogs reliever Brock Huntzinger, who had just replaced Pimentel. Later in the frame, Mayora stole second base and scored on Russ Mitchell's double to the left-center field gap. After neither team scored in the ninth inning, Portland broke the tie in the top of the 10th. Oscar Tejeda led off the inning with a single and he reached second base on a sacrifice bunt from Marquez Smith. A passed ball by Richmond's Tommy Joseph enabled Tejeda to advance to third base. He scored when Brentz delivered a sacrifice fly, which gave the Sea Dogs a 4-3 lead.

Liles drew a one-out walk from Portalnd's Aaron Kurcz in the bottom of the inning and he advanced to second two batters later on Joseph's two-out base hit. Mitchell followed with an RBI single that scored Liles and knotted the game at 4-4. After Joseph was lifted for pinch-runner John Eshleman, Kurcz unleashed a wild pitch and Eshleman took third. He scored on Perez' game-winning single.

Edwin Quirarte (2-0) earned the win for Richmond. Kurcz (2-3) took the loss for Portland.
