LAST GAME: The Altoona Curve collected twelve hits, including ten against Darin Gorski, to defeat the Binghamton Mets 7-1 last night at NYSEG Stadium. The Curve used a pair of three-run innings to even the series. Ramon Cabrera, Jeremy Farrell, and Evan Chambers combined to go 8-for-13 with a double, two home runs, six runs scored and five RBI. Farrell and Chambers ripped back-to-back home runs in the fourth against Gorski. It was the second time this season Gorski has allowed consecutive home runs. Binghamton scratched out their only run in the fourth on an RBI single by Rylan Sandoval. Gorksi matched a season and career high with ten hits allowed in the losing effort. Kyle McPherson, in his first start since returning from a two-month disabled list stay with shoulder inflammation, allowed one run over five innings to earn the win. Binghamton had eight hits, but no more than one in any inning. Brandon Moore allowed one run over two innings of relief. Edgar Ramirez and Brad Holt each tossed a shutout inning. Mike Colla and Vic Blackcombined for four shutout frames for Altoona.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Greg Peavey (3-2, 5.04) makes his twelfth start of the season and first against the Curve. The righty battled through five innings in a no-decision in his last start against the Trenton Thunder on June 10. He allowed one run on four hits while issuing two walks. He struck out three in a game the B-Mets would eventually lose 3-2 in ten innings. After winning his first two Double-A starts, Peavey has recorded just one victory in his last nine starts. A sixth-round pick out of Oregon State University in 2010, Peavey split last season between the Savannah Sand Gnats (Low-A) and St. Lucie Mets (High-A).

RHP Shairon Martis (4-2, 3.67) takes the mound for his seventh start with the Altoona Curve. The righty started the season in the bullpen for the Indianapolis Indians (AAA). He logged 8.1 innings in the International League over four games, compiling a 7.56 ERA before being place on the disabled list. He was activated and moved to Altoona in late April. Martis lost his last start against the Akron Aeros on June 10. The Native of Curacao allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out three. Originally signed as a non-drafted free agent by the San Francisco Giants in 2004, Martis spent one season with the Giants system before joining the Washington Nationals. Martis spent last season with the Harrisburg Senators, going 8-6 with a 3.05 ERA in 23 starts.

SANDOVAL STREAKING: B-Mets shortstop Rylan Sandoval picked up where he left off from Friday night. He hit safely in his first two at bats last night after capping Friday night's game with three straight hits. Filling in for Josh Rodriguez at short, he has compiled a three-game hitting streak, raising his batting average 51 percentage points to .273. In just 23 games as a B-Met, Sandoval has already collected 16 RBI.

POWER OUTAGE: Since ripping a season-high four home runs against the Trenton Thunder at Waterfront Park on June 9, the B-Mets have gone homerless, a five-game drought. The longest the B-Mets have gone without a homer this season is a six-game stretch from May 4 to May 10.

SETTING UP THE RUBBER MATCH: The B-Mets look for their seventh series win of the season. Binghamton has gone 3-2 in rubber matches this season.

CAPPING SERIES ON A HIGH NOTE: The B-Mets have gone 13-7 in series finales this season.

SLIPPING ON SUNDAY: After starting the season a perfect 8-0 on Sundays, the B-Mets lost their first Sunday contest last week, falling to the Trenton Thunder by a 3-2 score in ten innings.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets enjoy a day off Monday before starting a long roadtrip that will bring them to Akron, Ohio for five games in the three days followed by a four-game visit to Erie, Pennsylvania. The B-Mets will resume a suspended game against the Akron Aeros on Tuesday before making up a previous postponement on Wednesday.
