Squirrels Fly by the Sens in Game One 5-1

On a sweltering Saturday afternoon, the Senators dropped a 5-1 ballgame to Richmond in game one of a day/night doubleheader. Harrisburg falls to 57-43 on the season while Richmond improves to 53-46.

For the third game in a row the Senators were limited to a single run, with it scoring on an rbi double off the bat of Derek Norris scoring Chris Rahl in the third inning. Meanwhile Richmond scored two unearned runs in the first, then two more in the third and their final tally in the fourth inning.

Erik Arnesen started for the Senators and went the first four innings before being lifted for a pinch-hitter. He allowed six hits and five runs, but just three earned. Chuck Lofgren started for Richmond and pitched into the sixth inning earning a win in his first start for the Flying Squirrels.

Carlos Martinez pitched the final two innings in relief for the Sens allowing just a pair of hits.

Game four of the series and the second game of the day/night doubleheader is tonight at 6:35 p.m. with LH Evan Bronson on the mound for the Sens against LH Erik Surkamp for Richmond.
