New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and Millennium Running owner, John Mortimer announced that they will bring a new 5k road race to the City of Manchester on Thanksgiving Day.
The family oriented event will take place on Thanksgiving morning at 9am from the Fisher Cat's Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Participants will be treated to a unique experience of finishing inside the stadium at home plate. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit a to be determined local non-profit organization. Local non-profits should contact Millennium Running (www.millenniumrun.com) to be considered.
"More people run a road race on Thanksgiving morning than on any other day of the year," stated race director John Mortimer. "We are proud to partner with the Fisher Cats organization to finally bring a Thanksgiving road race to New Hampshire's largest city."
"Millennium Running is one of the nations best road race organizers and we are proud to partner with them to bring this event to Manchester," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "To encourage our community to be healthy and create the opportunity for people to end their race at home plate was an opportunity we could not resist."
Included in every participant's registration is one ticket to the 2012 Fisher Cats Opening Day.
MVP Health Care has generously stepped up to be the lead sponsor for this community event.
"We can't think of a better day than Thanksgiving to combine fun, family and fitness. Races like this fit perfectly with our interest to help the whole family make healthy choices throughout the day ahead," said MVP Health Care's Rebecca Couture, Field Marketing for New Hampshire and Vermont.
"We are so happy to have a great partner in MVP Health Care," stated Mortimer. "They stand for health and wellness for the entire family. That is what a Thanksgiving Day race is all about."
