Squadron Open Season with 130-90 Blowout Win Over Austin Spurs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, opened the season with a 130-90 victory over the Austin Spurs.
The Squadron were led in scoring by three different players, each of which dropped 20 points, Landers Nolley II, Izaiah Brockington and Tevian Jones. Nolley hauled in 10 rebounds as well, marking a double-double in his G League debut.
Rookie forward Trey Jemison brought down nine rebounds while tallying six blocks.
E.J. Liddell scored 10 points and recorded 12 rebounds for the Squadron before fouling out early in the fourth quarter a day after being assigned to the G League club by the Pelicans.
Kaleb Johnson scored 23 off the bench to lead the Spurs in the points column.
The Squadron return to the hardwood on Sunday as they take on the Capitanes in Mexico City with tip-off set for 4 p.m. Fans can watch the game on My68 in the Birmingham market.
