November 10, 2023 - NBA G League (G League)
Rip City Remix News Release
The Trail Blazers are going to get their rookies a bit of extra run with a few days off before their next game.
Thursday afternoon the team announced that Kris Murray and Rayan Rupert, selected with the 23rd and 43rd picks, respectively, of the 2023 NBA Draft, have been assigned to the Rip City Remix in advance of the first game of their existence Friday night versus the South Bay Lakers.
The Trail Blazers are already in Los Angeles in advance of a meeting versus the Lakers scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m., so assigning Murray and Rupert to the Remix allow the two rookies to get some extended run in the G-League while also being potentially being available for Sunday's game. The Remix will play their first two games versus the South Bay Lakers at the UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo, CA on Friday and Saturday and a third versus the Ontario Clippers at Toyota Arena on Monday.
Murray, a 6-8 forward out of Iowa, has seen action in three games this season, including nine minutes in Portland's overtime loss to the Kings in Sacramento on Wednesday. Rupert, a 6-6 guard out of France, played five minutes in the Trail Blazers' loss to the 76ers in Philadelphia on October 29 and two minutes in the opener versus the Clippers on October 25.
The Rip City Remix's inaugural game versus the South Bay Lakers can be seen on Youtube. The Remix will play their first home game on November 17 versus the South Bay Lakers at the Chiles Center on the campus of the University of Portland.
