
Spurs Forward/Center Zach Collins Makes Return to Play

San Antonio Spurs forward/center Zach Collins made his return to basketball tonight on assignment with the Austin Spurs after missing the entirety of last season and the beginning of this year while returning from a left ankle stress fracture. The 24-year-old last appeared in an NBA game on Aug. 13, 2020, during the 2019-20 season restart in Orlando.
Originally drafted with the 10th overall selection in the 2017 NBA Draft by Sacramento before being dealt to Portland, Collins played his first three seasons with the Trail Blazers. The former Gonzaga Bulldog averaged 5.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 17.5 minutes over 154 career games before signing with the Spurs on Aug. 11, 2021.
