Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
The Skyforce close out three home games in four days today with a matchup against the South Bay Lakers. Sioux Falls comes into the contest at 2-4, with losses to the Memphis Hustle on Saturday and Sunday.
Despite the losses, the Skyforce have held leads in the second half and are showing bright spots on a roster with new faces and some that are returning.
In his first game back from a stint as a two-way player with the Milwaukee Bucks, Javonte Smart picked up where he left off. Smart had 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals.
Sioux Falls has found a gem in Tarkus Ferguson. He is averaging 13.5 points on 58.7 percent shooting so far in the regular season. Ferguson also leads the G League in three-point percentage (61.1%) with a minimum of 15 attempts. His 23 three-pointers made ranks fourth in the G League, as well.
On Sunday, Micah Potter secured back-to-back double doubles, with three in five regular season games.
The South Bay Lakers have dropped their last two games to the Salt Lake City Stars and the Iowa Wolves after winning their first game of the 2021-22 regular season.
Andre Ingram is back for another season, as well. The 13-year G League veteran sits behind Skyforce assistant coach Renaldo Major for most all-time points in G League history. The Lakers also feature 2020-21 G League MVP Frank Mason III. He is averaging 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4 assists per game in the regular season.
