Legends Partner with Thrivent, Paul Quinn College to Celebrate MLK Day

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today with help from their partners at Paul Quinn College and Thrivent. While taking the court against the Oklahoma City Blue, the Legends will wear custom jerseys courtesy of Thrivent, and each jersey will feature a unique quote from Dr. King.
Paul Quinn College will have activations throughout the game to feature upcoming programs and events. The Legends will also highlight recent achievements of both the women's and men's basketball programs, currently ranked atop the small college boards.
Thrivent is a financial firm dedicated to helping their members live with purpose. Thrivent advisors will be on hand at the game to educate Legends fans on what it means to Thrive with purpose and how to become part of the Thrivent network.
"We are thrilled to join with our partners at Thrivent and Paul Quinn to host a celebration of Dr. King, to remind our fans what sports is really about," said Legends President Malcolm Farmer. "We strive to use our platform to create change, and to bring unity. Our partners at Paul Quinn and Thrivent are both doing the same, and we have a fun day ahead of us."
This game is the first meeting of the two teams this season and will be followed by a two-game stretch in Oklahoma City Wednesday and Friday (both games tip at 7pm).
