Springfield Falcons Assign Goaltender Scott Munroe to Kalamazoo Wings

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons have assigned goaltender Scott Munroe to the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL, Falcons Director of Hockey Operations Bruce Landon announced today.

Munroe, 32, has appeared in six games with Springfield this season, posting a 2.91 goal-against average and a .892 save percentage, while earning a 3-3-0 record. Munroe has also appeared in one game with the Wings, recording a 2.00 goals-against average and .920 save percentage, turning away 23 of 25 shots in an Oct. 18 victory against the Elmira Jackals.

The 6-foot-2, 194-pound goaltender spent the 2013-14 season with the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League. In 36 regular season games, Munroe accumulated a 19-16-0 record and posted three shutouts to go along with a 2.05 goals-against average and .912 save percentage. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native has appeared in a career total of 249 American Hockey League regular season contests, amassing a 117-93-14 record with 19 shutouts.
