Bulldogs Recall David Makowski from Nailers

MONTREAL, QUE. - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs general manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Bulldogs have recalled defenceman David Makowski from the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers.

In 24 games with Wheeling this season - Makowski's first year as a pro - he has recorded nine points (three goals, six assists) and 43 penalty minutes.

In 142 career National Collegiate Athletic Association games with the University of Denver Pioneers from 2010 to 2014, the 25-year-old recorded 93 points (27 goals, 66 assists) and 169 penalty minutes.

Before his collegiate career, the 6-1, 205-pound defenceman played two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League and one season with the St. Louis Bandits in the North American Hockey League. In 103 regular season games with Green Bay from 2008 to 2010, the St. Louis, Mo. native recorded 70 points (27 goals, 43 assists) and 155 penalty minutes. In 51 regular season games with St. Louis in 2007-08, he recorded 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) and 73 penalty minutes.

Hamilton signed Makowski to a one-year contract on June 18, 2014.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 30 when they'll visit the Rockford IceHogs at BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Ill. at 8 p.m. The 'Dogs will return to FirstOntario Centre on Friday, Jan. 9 when they'll host the Utica Comets at 7:30 p.m.
