Spot Dog Set To Return At Commerce Bank Park

The Spot makes its return at Commerce Bank Park beginning this Thursday. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon at a press conference at City Hall by Mayor Stephen Reed. Fans will have their first opportunity to enjoy a Spot Dog or Rendell Burger beginning at 5:00pm Thursday when the gates open at Commerce Bank Park prior to the game that evening at 6:05pm between the Senators and New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

Fans will be able to purchase Spot Dogs and Rendell burgers at the "Spot at the Park" on the third base side. Chips and sodas will also be available for purchase.

Harrisburg has been without the Spot Restaurant since its closing on September 28 after nearly 70 years in business. But now thanks to the efforts of the Billy Kaldes, the Senators, Sportservice and Marc Butler of Ollie's Bargain Outlet, the Spot Dog and Rendell Burger are being resurrected.

"The Senators are proud and excited to be a part of bringing what is Central Pennsylvania's most iconic food delicacy back to Harrisburg", according to Senators GM Randy Whitaker. "The Spot Dog is back each and every Senators home game! We invite everyone to come have one ... or six!"

Not only are the Senators happy with this, but Kaldes gushed, "I'm looking forward to April 17th and to the opening of the Spot Stand at Commerce Bank Park. I look forward to seeing all of my old customers and meeting new ones, and to seeing the great baseball that's going to be played this year by the Senators."

Even the Mayor got into the act with declaring Thursday to be "Spot at the Park Grand Opening Day in the Capital City." Several generations of Harrisburg residents have enjoyed the delicious Spot Dogs, and now have a chance to indulge again at Commerce Bank Park beginning this Thursday.

The Senators open a seven-game homestand on Thursday when the New Hampshire Fisher Cats come to town. Thursday night is Guaranteed Rainout Night. If the game is played, every fan in attendance receives a ticket to the April 21st game against the Erie SeaWolves.
