
Spokane Falls to Tri-City

The Spokane Chiefs fell to the Tri City Americans 4-2 in front of 9,234 fans at the Spokane Arena on Friday night. Davis Vandane scored his third of the year to bring the Chiefs within a goal with 1:06 left to play but Spokane was unable to complete the comeback.
Tri-City scored two power play goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Adam Hughesman had both goals for the Americans, the first coming at 4:38 and the second at 19:59 of the second. Brendan Shinnimin had assists on both goals.
Dominik Uher continued to have the hot hand for Spokane scoring his 10th goal in the past 10 games at 1:41 of the second, blasting a sharp angled shot top shelf.
Tri-City tallied a short handed goal on a two-on-one break finished off by Justin Feser with the assist going to Shinnimin at 11:57 of the second to take a 3-1 lead.
The two teams were at a stalemate for most of the third period until Vandane's slap shot from the blue line found it's into the Americans net at 18:54 of the third. Reid Gow and Dylan Walchuk received assists on the play.
The Americans finished off the game with an empty net goal by Shinnimin with 33-seconds to play.
Shots on goal favored the Chiefs by a margin of 37 to 19. Spokane finished the game 0-4 on the power play and 1-2 on the penalty kill.
