Roughnecks Sweep Home-And-Home

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks scored seven fourth quarter goals en route to a 16-9 victory over the Edmonton Rush Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, sweeping the weekend series.

Shawn Evans netted a team-leading five goals while Peter McFetridge scored three markers and added two assists, recording his first NLL hat trick and a career high in points. Geoff Snider (2g, 1a), Jeff Shattler (2g, 1a), Scott Ranger (1g, 2a) and Daryl Veltman (1g, 2a) each picked up three points in the win while Dane Dobbie and Cory Conway also scored for Calgary.

Scott Evans led the Rush with four points (2g, 2a) while Shawn Williams chipped in four assists to surpass 1,000 career points.

Mike Poulin made 40 saves as the Roughnecks held the Rush to one goal in the second half. Snider led the team with 16 loose balls and won 17-of-23 face-offs.

The Roughnecks fans prevailed with an attendance of 8,316 to win the fan edition of the Battle of Alberta, earning the Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA) a $5,000 donation. Both squads put up $2,500 towards the fan challenge as Edmonton saw 7,438 fans attend Friday night's contest at Rexall Place.

Calgary returns to action when they welcome the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m.
