Akron RubberDucks News Release
A six-run second inning by Erie led to a 13-4 SeaWolves win in Game 1 and game-tying and go-ahead RBI by Joe Sever backed strong pitching from Matt Whitehouse and Dominic DeMasi to win Game 2 and split Saturday night's doubleheader at Erie.
Turning Point
Three Erie home runs in the second inning of Game 1 off Akron starter Aaron Civale helped the SeaWolves score six runs in the frame on the way to a 13-4 win. In Game 2, Joe Sever's run-scoring single in the third inning and his sacrifice fly that scored Tyler Krieger in the fifth inning gave Akron a lead it would hold on until it finished with a 7-2 split of the doubleheader.
