LAST GAME RECAP: Mickey Jannis and David Roseboom combined for a two-hitter and baffled Altoona in the Rumble Ponies' 5-0 win over the Curve on Friday night. Jannis fired a season-high 7.1 innings while Roseboom fanned four to close the game. Joey Terdoslavich led the offense with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Justin Dunn takes the mound for his ninth start of the season with Binghamton and his 18th overall start in 2018. The Mets' top pick from the 2016 draft makes a bid for his fifth straight win as he faces the Altoona Curve for the first time in his career.
RACKING UP THE STRIKEOUTS: Justin Dunn has struck out 56 batters since making his debut for the Rumble Ponies on June 10, the highest total by any Eastern League pitcher since that date. Dunn has struck out nine or more hitters in a game three times with Binghamton. Dunn owns a 9.95 K/9 IP rate in his time with the Rumble Ponies.
MICHAEL KEEPS MOTORING: Levi Michael extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a single on Friday. Since April 28, Michael leads the Eastern League with a .330 batting average. Michael owns a .374 batting average in 25 games in July.
A LONG-AWAITED WIN: Binghamton snapped their five-game losing streak to Altoona with a win on Friday. The Rumble Ponies last beat the Curve on July 5, 2017.
LOOKING TO EXTEND THE STREAK: Justin Dunn is the first Rumble Pony to win four straight starts since Casey Delgado rattled off four straight wins in July & August 2017. Chris Flexen is the last Binghamton player to win five straight games, achieving the feat in June & July 2017.
JOEY BAG O' HITS: Joey Terdoslavich compiled a three-hit game on Friday, his fourth multiple-hit game in his last nine games played. He has gone 11-for-20 (.550) in five games on the Ponies current road trip. Since July 3, he is hitting .333 (21-for-63) with three doubles and two homers.
PUTTING AN END TO IT: David Roseboom posted 1.2 scoreless innings of relief on Friday, snapping Binghamton's bullpen skid of allowing at least one run in five straight games. Prior to the rough patch, Binghamton relievers had combined for 25.2 consecutive scoreless innings of relief.
SENIOR CIRCUIT GAMES: The Rumble Ponies are 5-14 in games against fellow National League affiliates. Of Binghamton's 42 scheduled series this season, only 15 are set against Eastern League teams affiliated with National League organizations. The Ponies have still yet to play the Reading Fightin Phils this season.
UP NEXT: The Rumble Ponies conclude their only visit to Altoona in 2018 on Sunday at 2:00 PM. RHP Kevin McGowan makes his first start of the season with Binghamton against RHP Luis Escobar.
