NEWS AND NOTES
SATURDAY IN THE PARK: The Portland Sea Dogs look for their second straight win of the series, taking on the Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) on Saturday night at Arm & Hammer Park...Portland was 26-44 in the first half of the season but is 17-16 in the second half of the season...Lefty Dedgar Jimenez is 4-0, 3.14 ERA (10 ER/28.2 IP) in his last five starts...With a win tonight, Jimenez would be the first starter to win three straight starts.
RAIN DIDN'T STOP THE 'DOGS: Portland scored five runs in the final two innings to beat the Trenton Thunder, 5-1 on Friday night...The game was delayed 1 hour and 13 minutes due to rain before the bottom of the sixth inning...Chad De La Guerra provided the game-winning RBI with a two-run homer in the eighth inning with two outs...Matthew Gorst (2-0) worked four scoreless frames on two hits and three strikeouts to earn the win.
