Spitfires Down London 4-1 at the Gardens

The Spitfires went up early and didn't look back all night.

In the first period, the Spitfires opened the scoring just under halfway through the period. At 9:26 of the period, Alex Christopoulos buried his first as a Spitfire as he caught his own rebound off a quick faceoff play. Just over two minutes later Maggio sniped his 8th on the season to give the Spitfires a 2-0 lead. With just 3 seconds remaining Wyatt Johnston stole the puck off London as they tried to dwindle the clock in the corner and he sniped it over the shoulder to give the Spitfires a 3-0 lead heading into the intermission. The shots were 18-9 in favour of the Spitfires after one period.

In the 2nd period, the Spitfires were awarded their first powerplay of the game and capitalized with McDonald on a rebound from a Zito shot and Henault had the 2nd assist giving the Spitfires a 4-0 lead. London changed their netminder after allowing 4 goals on 20 shotsJust under 5 minutes later London scored on a 2 on 1 to bring the game 4-1.

The third period was scoreless as Medina stood tall as well as London's goalie.

The Spitfires are back in action tomorrow December 11th at 7:05pm for our annual teddy bear toss game when the Kitchener Rangers come to town.
