
Spikes Fans Have Five Chances at Family Value Starting Tuesday

STATE COLLEGE - The State College Spikes return home on Tuesday, July 20th to start a five-game homestand filled with family fun that runs through Saturday, July 24th. The Spikes will take on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians) and the Auburn Doubledays (Toronto Blue Jays), and all five games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The slate of fun, family entertainment is one lucky fan will be able to win a four-day, three-night vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Thursday night, when the Spikes face the Doubledays. All fans need to do to be eligible for the trip is to stop by the VisitMyrtleBeach.com display on the main concourse during the game. Then, one lucky winner will be announced in the 7th inning, and that winner can take three friends or family members along for a getaway excursion that includes a stay at an oceanfront resort, golf for four, a $50 gift certificate for dinner, and other great experiences. VisitMyrtleBeach.com will also present a fantastic post-game FIREWORKS display on Thursday that is sure to dazzle the crowd.
In addition, young baseball fans can enjoy a Kids' Day on Saturday, July 24, when the Spikes finish off the homestand against the Doubledays. The fun begins with the Spikes Youth Baseball Clinic, presented by Penn State Orthopaedics, as kids 12 and under can improve their baseball skills with the help of Spikes players from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Admission to the clinic is free with a ticket to Saturday's game. Once the gates open at 6 p.m. (5:50 for season ticket holders), the first 1,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Spikes Fielder's Glove. After the game, kids can then run the bases thanks to HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital.
Other fun activities include a Spikes Cooler Bag Giveaway presented by Sanitary Maintenance to the first 1,000 fans on Tuesday, July 20th and Antique Night featuring appraiser Will Fluman of Apple Hill Antiques on Wednesday, July 21st. Plus, Reggy, the Purple Party Dude, will make his return to State College on Friday, July 23rd to entertain fans with his zany mascot antics.
