Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
Treat dad and the whole family to a great day of family fun at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Sunday, June 18th!
The day begins with a special Father's Day Brunch Buffet starting at 10 am. Enjoy a wide variety of items including salads, fresh breads, traditional breakfast foods and assorted desserts. Or, have a fresh omelet built to your specifications at the Omelet Station or get a steak cooked to order at our Specialty Grill. The cost is $12 for adults; $6 for children 12 to 4 and children 3 and under are free. The brunch runs until 1 pm when the gates open for Sunday's game.
After brunch, head out to the parking lot to join in on the fun with the Principal Family Fun Fest. This traveling baseball festival will make a stop at Veterans Memorial Stadium for one day only. The fun fest will be set-up right outside the front gates and will start at 11:00 am. This festival includes more than 20 baseball themed attractions including a minor league baseball museum, the Xbox 360 Home Run Derby video game trailer, and a fan festival midway with batting and pitching cages, bungee runs, a side-by-side giant slide, baseball bounce houses, and lots more interactive fun for baseball fans of all ages. There's even an exhibit where fans can put themselves on a free souvenir cover of LIFE magazine. To learn more about the Principal Family Fun Fest, go to www.principal.com/funfest.
Then, get set for fun as the Kernels take on the Beloit Snappers at 2 pm, as it's KDAT Sunday Family Fun Day.
