Spartanburg residents get discounted Grrrowl tickets

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl will be offering residents of Spartanburg County a $2 discount on tickets for the Grrrowl game on Saturday, Dec. 17th. With a valid Spartanburg ID, residents can get $2 off adult tickets in the $21, $14 and $10 seating levels.
Spartanburg residents can get up to four discounted tickets by showing their ID at the Box Office on Saturday night. The Grrrowl will be playing the South Carolina Stingrays, with the game set to begin at 7:05 p.m.
The Stanley Cup will be at the BI-LO Center on Saturday night as well, as the world's most famous sporting trophy continues its tour around 20 ECHL cities. The Stanley Cup began touring the cities of ECHL teams on October 26th to help raise money for hurricane relief efforts. This tour is another addition to the National Hockey League's charitable efforts, which have included a joint donation with the NHL Players' Association of $1 million to the Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief.
All Grrrowl fans can take their picture with the Stanley Cup by making a monetary donation of their own denomination. All proceeds will benefit charities assisting in hurricane relief efforts including, but not limited to, the Salvation Army.
Also be sure to bring some Teddy Bears to Saturday night's game for the annual Teddy Bear Toss. After Greenville scores its first goal of the game, all Grrrowl fans are encouraged to throw their Teddy Bears onto the ice. Grrrowl players and staff, and members of the US Marine Corps, will pick up the bears, then donate them to the Toys for Tots program.
After Greenville's games this weekend, the Grrrowl host Toledo on Tuesday, Dec. 20th, and will honor the State Champion Byrnes High School Football Team. Byrnes High School players will be honored on the ice between periods, and the Grrrowl will pay tribute to the State Champions throughout the game.
After Tuesday's game against Toledo, the Grrrowl will enjoy a Holiday Break and return to action on Dec. 26th in Charlotte, NC.
