Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder has agreed to terms with defenseman Aaron MacInnis and is eligible to play immediately, Thunder head coach Chris Cichocki announced today. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal solidifies the Thunder's acquisition of MacInnis, who was originally acquired from the Victoria Salmon Kings on November 10, in exchange for future considerations. He is slated to wear jersey number 16.

"In acquiring Aaron's rights, I was confident we were getting another steady defenseman who could play in all situations," said Cichocki. "He possesses a hard shot like his uncle, and plays very well on both sides of the puck which thrills us to finally bring him on the roster."

MacInnis, a nephew of former St. Louis Blues and Calgary Flames (NHL) defenseman Al MacInnis, has appeared in six games with the Salmon Kings (ECHL) in 2005-06, scoring three points (1g-2a) with four PIM's. He spent the previous two seasons with the Texas Wildcatters (ECHL), and also played for Cichocki with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) in 2003-04, racking up three points (1g-2a) in 22 games with the Cyclones.

The Thunder returns to play on Friday, December 16 against the Las Vegas Wranglers with a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at Stockton Arena. The game can be heard live on the internet (free-of-charge) and is available for viewing at a $6 "pay-per-view" fare at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B-2 Networks.
