EL SEGUNDO - The South Bay Lakers have acquired point guard Nick Norton off waivers, it was announced today by General Manager Nick Mazzella. In a related move, the team has waived forward Earnest Ross.
Norton appeared in 114 games (111 starts) over five years at Alabama-Birmingham and Drake, averaging 8.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Last season with Drake, he played 14 games (all starts), averaging 14.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 47.8 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three-point range and 91.9 percent from the free throw line.
