Sounders FC Invite Fans to Bring Needed School Supplies for Local Students

RENTON, Wash. - The Sounders FC and the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County will host a school supply drive at the Sounders FC match on Thursday, August 20, at Qwest Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

"Thousands of the area youth are not able to afford the proper supplies necessary to succeed in school, like backpacks, pencils, crayons and paper," said Boys and Girls Club Communications & Public Relations Director Rachel Doxtater. "We're so grateful to have loyal supporters who care about our Club kids and who step up to help provide these youth with the tools to succeed."

Volunteers will be collecting school supplies and cash donations starting at 5:30 p.m. at the following Qwest Field entrances: north, northwest, northwest VIP, southwest, southwest VIP and entrances into the stadium through the Qwest Field Event Center Garage.

Suggested school supply donations include the following:

Backpacks

Rulers

Pencils, pens and colored pencils

Crayons

Calculators

Binders, folders and notebooks

Erasers

Scissors

Glue
